November 2019

In support of the Royal British Legion and in the lead up to this year’s Armistice day, the team at Aspire Residential set themselves the goal of cycling the distance of a round trip from our office in Goring by Sea to the beaches of Normandy, a distance of about 500 miles in total. We are pleased to announce that with the amazing support of clients, friends and the general public, we achieved our target and averaged over 100 miles per day.

Mike Jones, Aspire Residential’s Director of Sales commented that “the figure of 500 miles didn’t sound like a long way at first, but when you break it down, we had to cycle over 10 miles for every hour the office was open. Luckily, we received a huge amount of support”.

The Royal British Legion supports our armed forces service men and women. Whether currently serving or ex-military, the Legion helps with physical and mental disabilities, financial support and careers assistance. Mike further commented that “given what these brave people have been through and the sacrifices made for our country, we wanted to try to give a little back by supporting the charity. Hopefully we can continue our support in future years”.

Rob Gamon, Aspire Residential’s Director of Lettings further commented “we are not the fittest bunch by our own admission, and forcing ourselves to do some exercise was not a bad thing, but we are all still aching. One thing is for sure, none of us want to see an exercise bike for many months to come. Next year we will try something a little more sedate. If anyone has any ideas then please let us know as long as it doesn’t involve a bike, running machine, elliptical or any other similar kind of device!”

The team at Aspire would like to offer a huge thanks to the “Gym Hub” in Worthing for loaning the static bike. Our further thanks go to Lings Solicitors, Diamond Cut, West End Barbers and Shafiques Restaurant who all provided prizes for our cycle sprint challenge. We couldn’t have done this without the help and support of these local businesses.

We would finally like to thank everyone who participated and donated to the event.
